当我们的孩子转到新的学校，面对新的学习环境时，我们总不可避免地会担心：

当孩子们即将走进新的学校，迈向新的年级，他们总是既兴奋又忐忑：
Since it is the first time that they’ve entered our school gate and begun a fresh new school life, it is quite natural that they feel a little bit nervous and sometimes even overwhelmed.
新学校是什么样子的？我会不会迷路？
What does the school look like? Am I going to get lost in the big campus?
我的老师是什么样的？他/她会喜欢我吗？
What do our teachers look like? Will he/ she like me?
我都将学习一些什么课程？不同的课程都要学习什么？

新学校、新年级的学习和以前有什么不同？
What are the differences between former school life and life here in SUIS?

不用担心，学校的心理老师——俞晨老师在9月份为一年级和二到四年级的孩子们带来了两场有趣且实用的新生入学系列讲座——我爱学校、我喜欢上学。
There is no need to worry. Our psychology teacher, Ms. Candy gave students two interesting lectures titled:“I love school”.
俞老师首先告诉孩子们当他们来到新的学校，面临一切新鲜的事物，有不适应的感觉是非常正常的。然后告诉孩子们在他们伤心、生气，遇到解决不了的困难，有不想告诉别人的心事时都可以来学校的心理咨询室寻求心理老师的帮助。之后，俞老师请孩子们分享了来到新学校，升入新年级的感受。
Ms. Candy explained to our children that it’s natural for everyone to feel uncomfortable when they go to a new school. They can ask for Ms. Candy’s help any time when they feel sad and under pressure, or even when they have difficulties and some secrets that they don’t want to share with others. Later on, Ms. Candy prompted our students to speak out their feelings about new school and new grades.

俞老师邀请了一名一年级的新生和她一起表演了绘本故事——《小猫咪，小猫咪，上学喽！》。
Mrs. Candy invited a Grade one student to act out a story: Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat, Are You Going To School?
瞧！孩子们的目光一下子就被可爱的小猫咪吸引了。小猫咪刚上小学的第一天怎么样呢？孩子们都非常期待。
Look! Students were immediately enthralled by that cute cat! How was Kitty Cat’s first day in school? All of our students were curious about what will happen next.
在跟随小猫咪体验一天的课程中，孩子们也纷纷展示了自己在不同课程中学到的本领，表达了自己对不同课程的喜爱；和同学们一起分享了自己的兴趣爱好；和老师分享了自己在学校的开心事。
Students experienced a day in school with Kitty Cat together, while they also expressed what they learned in school. They also shared their favourite subjects, hobbies and fun activities in school.

俞老师带领二到四年级的孩子们一起走进绘本故事——《小阿力的大学校》，认识了一位害羞的转学生——小阿力。

小阿力转到新的学校了，上学前一天他的心情怎么样呢？
A Li transferred to his new school. Do you know how he felt the day before arriving?
有的孩子和小阿力一样，对于新学校有很多担忧；也有的孩子已经做好了充分的准备，非常期待来到新学校学习和生活呢！
Some of our young students feel worried about new school, just like A Li. But some are well prepared and look forward to their study and life in a new school.
在小阿力上学前，他妈妈都帮他做了哪些准备呢？
But do you know what her mom did for A Li before he went to school for the first time?
孩子们也分享了自己在上学前、上课前需要准备的东西。只有一切准备就绪，才能使我们的学习生活井然有序。
Our kids felt glad to share what they have prepared for before school and before class procedures. Deep down they understand that only if they are prepared will they truly adapt to their new school environment.
第二天，小阿力起得很早，准备去上学。让我们看看他到了学校，老师都带他到哪里去了呢？
Next day, A Li got up very early and got ready to go to school. Let’s check what his teacher showed him at school.
孩子们也纷纷表示在入学夏令营中就早早熟悉了新学校的环境，爱上了这个美丽的校园。
Our kids all agreed that they now know our campus very well after their three-day Summer Camp and have fallen in love with SUIS.
那么小阿力在新的学校过得怎么样？和同学、老师相处的怎么样呢？
So how does A Li feel about his new school? Does he get along with his schoolmates and teachers?
孩子们也迫不及待地分享了自己交朋友的妙招以及在学校的开心事。
Our children couldn’t wait to share their tips when it came to making friends!

1.1A:俞晓瑜：我的小学生活也跟小猫咪的一样精彩，我喜欢画画，喜欢看书，特别是百科全书中的昆虫系列，我还希望可以多上一些科学课。
My primary school life is as fun as Kitty Cat’s! I love drawing and reading, especially the books about insect in the encyclopedia. I hope we can have more science class.
2.1B金熠:小猫咪在老师的帮助下,每天在学校都过得很开心。我知道了我在学校里也有这样的老师可以帮助我们。
With the help of teachers, Kitty Cat is happy every day in school. I know that we can also get help from teachers in school.
3.1C王力辉:小猫咪在学校度过了充实的一天，非常开心。我们也要上更多的课程，来丰富我们的学习生活。
Kitty Cat had a very fulfilling day in school. I hope we can also have more classes to fulfill our school life.
4.1D 徐文仪：小俞老师好温柔，我本来有很多不开心的事情，听了小俞老师的话我马上就变开心了，学会了好多让自己高兴的办法，我以后想上小俞老师的课。
Ms.Candy is such a nice teacher. I was unhappy before, however after had this lecture, I’m happy now because I know some methods to make myself think positively. I want to have Ms.Candy’s class again!
5.1E陈可可：小俞老师真漂亮，声音好好听。我感觉我自己就是那只小猫咪，因为我也很喜欢来上学。
Ms.Candy is beautiful with a nice voice. I think Kitty Cat is a reflection of myself, because I love to go to school too.

I wish to be a happy fish and I hope I can solve problems by myself.

I like Ms. Candy. I think Kitty Cat is very brave. I hope I can be brave enough to stand on stage just like Kitty Cat.
8.2A沈鑫妤：我很喜欢上学，是因为这里的课程很丰富，还有原来学校没有的游泳课。
I love school. I love different kinds of curriculum. Our swimming class is awesome – in my old school, there is no swimming pool and swimming class.
9.2B张恩霖：我很喜欢在这个新学校上学，因为原来的学校里的图书馆没有很多书，操场不大，也没有游乐场。这里真是太大、太美了！
I love SUIS for the beautiful library: there are so many more books on the shelves and a huge playground which our old school did not have.
10.2C夏昱飞：我在新学校每天都很开心，令我最开心的事就是我们成为了第一个在STEAM课上搭好纸牌大楼的小组。
I enjoy every day at SUIS. The happiest moment is that our group became the first group that created a skyscraper with sticks in our STEAM class.
11.2D向晨曦：我喜欢上学，因为我们学校特别大，操场也特别大，我特别喜欢在我们学校图书馆看书！感觉很棒！
I love to go to school because our school is enormous and there’s a massive playground too. I love reading in our huge library, it’s fabulous.
12.3A曹妍婷:我喜欢上学，是因为我交到了很多好朋友，上体育课和游泳课的时候我都可以和他们一起玩。
I love every minute at SUIS. I have made so many friends. We stay together during P.E and swimming class.
13.3B朴艺真：我们可以在开学前先去跟老师熟悉一下学校的环境，还可以做一些开学前的准备工作，让自己更好地适应新学校的生活。
We were able to get to know our school better with the help of our teachers. And we have prepared well to adapt to new school life.
14.4A庄颜：我在学校里非常开心，因为很多老师都很和蔼，课程也丰富多彩。听了讲座以后，我觉得我也应该像小阿力一样勇敢地和同学分享我的故事。
I’m happy at school. Our teachers are very nice. The curricula here are fantastic. After today’s lecture, I think I will build up my courage and share my experiences, just like A Li.
15.4B胡琳溪：我们来到新的学校要大胆地、主动地交朋友，我们可以通过玩游戏、参与集体活动的方式来交朋友。
We should make friends freely and courageously at school. We will get a number of new friends by playing games together and go to assembly more often.
亲子教育建议：
1.家长可以借助学校入学夏令营和家长开放日的各项活动，和孩子一起熟悉学校的环境，了解美丽的校园，增加孩子对学校的好感。
Parents need to be familiar with our new campus through 3-day Summer Camp and Open Days which can help our kids to build confidence for our school.
2.开学前，家长可以和孩子一起购买、准备有关的学习用品，帮助孩子调整好开学心情。可以尝试让孩子自己按照课程表来整理第二天的学习用品，并和孩子一起制定好开学的作息表、计划表，逐步培养孩子的自主性、规范性，使孩子养成良好的学习和生活习惯。
Before going to school, parents are expected to purchase stationery and what they need for school. Try to encourage children to make preparations for their next day in school according to their timetable at school. Don’t forget to make plan with their children which will cultivate their ability to show initiative and discipline in order to help them form good habits.
3.开学前，家长可以教会孩子一些和同伴交往的技巧，鼓励孩子的同伴交往。如果孩子有志同道合的朋友，也可以想办法创造孩子和朋友相处的机会，增进同学、朋友之间的感情。
Before going to school, parents are expected to pass on some useful tips about making friends to their children, and encourage them to make new friends at school. If they happen to meet some schoolmate who has similar hobbies, our parents can prompt them to play together or maybe find sometime to spend together.
4.开学后，家长可以多与孩子聊聊学习生活，听听孩子对不同课程的感受，鼓励孩子说说自己在不同课上学到的知识、本领，增加孩子的学习热情。
Parents are advised to chat more with students about their school life and feelings about different classes. It’s good to encourage students to talk about the what they learn in different classes, which can motivate them.
5.家长可以多与孩子谈论一下校园生活，听听孩子的喜怒哀乐，及时了解孩子遇到的困难，提供帮助，引导孩子多发现校园生活中美好的一面，多寻找有趣的事情。
Through talking with students, parents should know what difficulties their kids have in school and help them to solve it. Students should also be encouraged to think positively and find some interesting things in school.
