The warm winter sun slowly shone on the earth, the maple leaves fell silently, and December came to us on tiptoes. On the first day of December, bidding farewell to the rainy days, we finally ushered in the middle and high school Sports Day.
Following the introduction of the host, each phalanx is like a colorful boat sailing and swaying in the sea, and each class sings its slogan loudly. Waiting for us were a series of events such as running, long jump, shot put, relay race, tug of war and so on.
I signed up for 4×300m. As the first rod approached, my heart seemed to be pressed against a mountain. The starting gun rang, “Bang!” I rushed out of the starting line like lightning, and the end was getting closer and closer to me. The first two hundred meters have exhausted me. Suddenly, I heard the cheers of my classmates. I gritted my teeth and rekindled hope in my heart. I sprinted for the last 100m and ran to the dazzling red ribbon.
The tug-of-war was in the distance, and the red ribbon swayed near the sign bucket. The competition is fierce. Starting, accumulating, jumping, landing… the sandpit was not far away. The athletes in the long jump drew a beautiful arc in the air. The shot put on the other side was thrown towards sunshine.
Sweat and wind are intertwined, taking away a lot of temperature. We lied down on the field, our faces were bathed in warm sunshine, but the true feelings in our hearts remain undiminished. The wind will always accompany us. What will not be blown away is the residual temperature left on the runway, the enthusiasm of youth, and the spirit of never giving up.
